OR 71 Prohibits overtaking & passing of school buses which stopped for school children ORDINANCE NO. 71 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL PROHIBITING THE OVERTAKING AND PASSING OF SCHOOL BUSES WHICH ARE STOPPED FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECEIVING OR DISCHARGING SCHOOL CHILDREN; PRO- VIDING FOR A PENALTY OF NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT OEDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The driver of a vehicle upon any street or public way in the City of Coppell, upon meeting or overtaking, from either direction, any school bus which has stopped on the street for the purpose of receiving or discharging any school children, shall stop the vehicle immediately before passing the school bus, snd remain stopped and still until said school bus has completed receiving or discharging said school children and shall have its door closed. SECTION 2. That any person violating any of the pro- visions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction in the Municipal Court shall be subject to a fine not to exceed tile sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each offense.
