OR 44 Extends boundary limits of the city ORDINANCE NO. 44 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY TO THE CITY, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREIN- AFTER DESCRIBED PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS; GRANTING TO ALL THE INHABITANTS AND OWNERS OF SAID PROPERTY ALL THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS AND BINDING SAID INHABITANTS TO ALL THE ACTS, ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS AND REGULATIONS OF SAID CITY. WHEREAS, a petition requesting that the hereinafter described territory be annexed to the City of Coppell, Texas, has been signed by all the owners of such described territory; 'and WBERFAS, said land is adjoining the City of Coppell and said Petition was presented to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Coppell requesting the annexation of said territory to the City; and WHEREAS, the members of the City Council of the City of Coppell have approved the Petition requesting the annexation of said territory; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: Section 1. That the following described property, to-wit: LYING and situated in Dallas County, Texas, being a p~rt of that certain 145.41 acre tract of land in the Cordella Bowen Survey, Abstract 58 (City of Dallas Block 8484) described in a deed from Ben F.. Tisinger, Trustee, to Dallas Power & light Companydated June 18, 1955, and recorded in Volume 4378, Page B78 of the Deed Records of Dallas County, Texas, and more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING in the north line of the said Cordella Bowen Survey at the northwest corner of the said 145.41 acre tract; THENCE N 89~ 27.5' E along the north line of the said Cordeiia Buw~n Survey ~nd along ~he north line of the said 145.41 acre tract, a distance of 1197.12 feet; THENCE S 0° 12.5' E parallel with the west line of the said 145.41 acre tract, a distance of 1927.7 feet to an intersection with the south line of said 145.41 acre tract; THENCE S 89~ ~2.5' W, a distance of 1197.12 feet to the southwest corner of the said 145.41 acre tract; THENCE N 0~ 12.5' W along the west line of said 14~.41 acre tract, a distance of 1929.4 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing 53.00 acres. be, and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Coppell, Dallas County, Texhs~ and that the boundary limits of the City of Coppell be, and the same are hereby extended to include the above des- ¢ribed territory within the limits of the City of Coppell, and the same shall be hereinafter included within the territorial limits of the City and inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all rights and privileges of other citizens of the City of Coppoll, and they shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, Resolutions and regulations of said Clty. · and after Council Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect from its passage as the law in such cases provides. ADOPTED by Affirmative vote of all members of the City this the ?i/ day of .~_~.< ~_,_ , 1968. ~'Mayor ATTEST: APPROVED AS TO FORM: City Secretary , PETITION REQUESTING TiIX CITY OF COPPELL TO ANNEX TERRITORY TO: The Mayor and City Council of the City of Coppoll, Texas: NOW comes the COPPELL I~EPE~ENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, owner of the followin~ described property, which said property is contiguous and adjacent to the present limits of the City of Coppoll, Texas, and which is not more than one-half (1/2) mile in width, and which is occupied by less than three (3) residents, and does hereby petition the governing body of tile City Of Coppel! to extend the present city limits so as to in- elude said territory as a part of the City of Coppoll, Texas. The said territory sought to be annexed is described as follows: LYING and situated in Dallas County, Texas, being a part of that certain 145.41 acre tract of ]and in the Cordelia Bowen Survey, Abstract 56 (City of Dallas Block ~4G4) described in a deed from Ben F. Tistnger, Tr,~stee, to Dallas Power ~ Light Company dated June 15, 1955, and recorded in Volm~e 437~, page 376 of the Deed ~ecords of Ds].las County, Texas, and more particularly described by metes and bounds as relieves: BEGINNING in the north ltne,.of the said Cordolin Bowen Survey at the northwest corner of the said 145.41 acre tract; THENCE N 89c 27.5' E. along the north line of the said Cordelia Bowan Survey and along the north line of the said 145.41 acre tract, a distance el 1197.12 feet; THENCE S 0° 12.5' E parallel with the ~est liue of the said 145.41 acre tract,. a distance of 1927.7 ]eet to an intersection with the south line of the sniff 145.41 acre tract; THENCE S 89° 22.5' W aFdistnnce of 1197.12 feet to the southwest corner of the said 145.41 acre tract; THENCE N 0° 12.5' W along the west line of the said 145.41 acre tract, a distance of !929.4 feet to the place oZ beginning and co.ktaini.g 53.00 acres. The Coppell Independent School District represents all of the owners of the fibeve described property and hereby expresses its desire that said property be incorporated within the limits of the City of Coppoll, Texas.
