BM 2003-07-02 EcDevCOPPELL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE July 2, 2003 MINUTES The Coppell Economic Development Committee met at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at Coppell Town Center, 2nd Floor Conference Room, 255 Parkway Boulevard, Coppell, Texas 75019. The following were present: Chairman Bill Rohloff, Bruce Bradford, Jason Crawford, Kris Fichtner, Ron Hansen, Ed Thomas, Council member Jayne Peters and Tim Brancheau, City Manager Jim Witt, Andrea Roy, and Scarlett Hovland. Call to Order Bill Rohloff called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. Approval of Minutes: June 4, 2003 It was moved by Ed Thomas and seconded by Ron Hansen that the minutes of the June 4, 2003 meeting be approved. The motion passed unanimously. Discussion regarding prioritizing "Hot Spots" · Andrea Roy made a presentation, showing the prioritization of the properties designated as "hot spots." Discussion followed. Andrea will continue to communicate and notify the committee on any updates related to any of the hot spots. Andrea will concentrate on the top 5 locations according to pursuant. Discussion regarding potential development costs associated with 756 Sandy Lake Road · Andrea Roy reviewed with the committee the estimated cost for the tree mitigation that the potential developer requested for the location north of Sandy Lake, between Coppell Road and S. H. 121. Discussion followed. The cost was more than expected. Andrea will arrange for John Elias, City of Coppell Park Planner/Landscape Manager to review the property and to further discuss the tree mitigation cost with the potential developer. She will report the results to the Committee at the next meeting. 5. General Discussion mo Reminder of upcoming Boards & Commissions Appointments Andrea reminded the committee that the applications for the Boards & Commissions appointments are due by July 30. Be Update on commercial and industrial development projects Andrea shared that activity is still strong in the commercial and industrial development inquiries for the city. City Manager Jim Witt shared that the Sales Tax House Bill 3143 and 104 are continuing to be monitored by the city staff. Andrea shared that the ads had been placed in the Dallas Office and Industrial Guides for a full year. With no further business to discuss, it was moved by Matt Hall and seconded by Ed Thomas that the meeting adjourn.
