BM 2003-11-20 KCBKeep Coppell Beautiful Minutes of Meeting November 20, 2003 The Keep Coppell Beautiful Committee met on November 20, 2003 at 7pm in the Conference Room at the Coppell Service Center, 816 So. Coppell Rd, Coppell Texas. The following members were present John Dobson, Lisa Cunov, Rene Lawson, I4zaren Smith, Jane Filarowicz, City of Coppell Liaison: Amanda Vanhoozier, Community Programs Coordinator. Item 1: Call to Order - Lisa Cunov called the meeting to order at 7:06 PM Item 2: Consider Approval of Minutes, October 16, 2003. Minutes approved as written. (5-0) Item 3: Citizen's Forum. No citizens present. Item 4: Discussion and consider approval of cancellation of the December 18, 2003 Meeting. Cancellation of meeting approved. (5-0) Item 5: Discuss and consider approval of Goals for 03-04. Amanda Vanhoozier went over possible goals for 03-04 and discussed with the committee about entering for the Governor's Award. Committee agreed for Karen Smith to look more into the Governor's award and make a presentation to the committee on the next meeting. No goals were approved until further discussion at the next meeting. Item 6: Discuss and consider approval of entry at Holiday Parade, December 6, 2003 Committee came up with ideas for the float to be entered in the Holiday Parade. John Dodson will be in charge of organizing the decorations. Amanda V. will register KCB in the parade and arrange for the Waste Management truck to be used. Committee believes it will be a great way to market KCB to the community. Holiday Parade entry approved. (5-0) Item 7: Discussion of Marketing Strategies for KCB and Activities. No marketing strategies were discussed; item will be placed on the January agenda. Item 8: Discussion on Computer Recycling. Committee discussed arrival times and duties for Computer Recycling and Mulch Day, which is set for Saturday, January 3, between 9 and 1 la.re. Karen Smith will be in charge of pictures for documentation. Committee discussed a possibility of having a survey and handing out brochures and recycling bins. Item 9: Community Program Report. Amanda reported that Waste Management has not given a proposal to City Manager about yard trimmings. Amanda is working on getting a grant for Residential Yard Trimmings Promotional Campaign. Mulch from the Holiday Tree Recycling will be used in city parks. Next Adopt -a-Location pick up date is set for December 13 at 10:30 a.m. New Business to be placed on next meeting's agenda: Goals for 03-04, including Governor's Awards Marketing Strategies Green Purchasing ADJOURNED Meeting adjourned at 8:45pm.
