A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS,
DECLARING THE NEED FOR WATER LINE IMPROVEMENTS ON THE SOUTH SIDE
OF BELTLNE ROAD; PROVIDING FOR THE GENERAL NATURE AND EXTENT OF
THE IMPROVEMENTS; DIRECTING THAT DETAILED PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS,
AND COST ESTIMATES FOR THE IMPROVEMENTS BE PREPARED AND
SUBMITTED TO THE CITY COUNCIL; DECLARING THE INTENT TO LEVY AN
ASSESSMENT AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WNEREAS, the City of Coppell has the major part of its terrltoly in Dallas County,
Texas, a County with · population of more then 25,0(X); and
WHEREAS, subchapter D of Chapter 402 of the Texas Locel Government Code
is 8pplice. ble to the City of Coppell; and
WHEREAS, the City of Coppell desires to exercise the authority granted under
subchapter D of Chapter 402 with regard to improvements to the water and sewer system
of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to determine the need for certain water line
improvements and to follow the procedures required by subchapter D to levy an
assessment against the abutting property owners served by such water line
improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COPPELL, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. 11~at the City of Coppell hereby adopts the provisions of
subchepter D, ChEq~ter 402, Texas Local Government Code, with regard to improving the
water works system or sanitary sewer system within the City boundaries by construc~g,
extending, enlarging, or r~ ~ S~etn, and by providing for the assessment
of a potion of the costs of such improvements against the benefitted property and the
owners of that prope~y,
SECTION 2. That the City Council hereby determines that there is a need
for improvements to the water works system by cons~ction of twelve (12') inch and
eight (8') inch water lines along the south side of Belfline Road, plus boring underneath
Beltline Road at the east end of the project end termination on the north side of Beltllne,
installation of eight inch (8') valves, reconstruction of a portion of a two inch (2') service
line end construction of other necassery appurtenances.
SECTION 3. That the City Engineer is directed to prepare and submit
Council.
SECTION 4. Upon receipt of the estimate of costs, the City Council will
consider whether to call a public hearing and levy an esses~nent against the benefitted
improvements.
SECTION S. This resolution shall take effect krm'mdist~ from and after
