RE 08-09-94.2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS RESOLUTION NO. 080994.2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR REGULAR LICENSE PLATES TO BE USED ON CERTAIN EXEMPT POLICE VEHICLES AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Article 6701m-2 provides that upon approval of the governing body of a city, automobiles used by police need not be marked as city-owned vehicles when used for the purpose of performing official duties; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Coppell desires to authorize the Police Department to use unmarked vehicles as they may deem necessary in order to facilitate police undercover work and other legitimate functions of the Police Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: Section 1 That pursuant to the authority granted by Article 6701m-2 V.A.C.S., approval is hereby given by the governing body of the City of Coppell, Texas, for the use by the Coppell Police Department of unmarked vehicles for the purpose of performing official duties. Section 2 The Chief of Police of the Coppell Police Department is hereby authorized and directed to designate those vehicles for which license plates are required which will not reveal that such vehicles are owned by the City.
