RE 07-12-94.2 RESOLUTION NO. 071294.2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL MAINTENANCE ON S. BELTLINE ROAD AT I.H. 635 IN THE AMOUNT OF $1200 PER YEAR. WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has adopted a policy and accordingly developed a procedure to reimburse cities that adequately maintain traffic signals on freeway frontage roads within their jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, we are requesting to maintain the traffic signal on S. Belt Line at I.H. 635. We have evaluated our traffic signal records to determine an estimated annual average maintenance cost of $1,200 per year. The TxDOT District Staff has reviewed and agrees with our maintenance cost figures. TxDOT will also assume direct payment to TU Electric of electrical charges for the traffic signals maintained by the City. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Coppell is desirous of authorizing its administrative staff to represent and act for the city in dealing with the Texas Department of Transportation concerning this program; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS; SECTION I. THAT the city Council hereby approves the attached agreement entitled "Agreement For The Installation And Reimbursement For the Operation And Maintenance Of Traffic Signals Within A Municipality" between the City of Coppell (City) and the State of Texas acting by and through the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) wherein TxDOT will reimburse the City $1,200 annually for traffic signal maintenance on freeway frontage roads and the Mayor is authorized to execute said agreement. SECTION II. THAT this resolution shall take effect from and after its final date of passage, and it is accordingly so ordered.
