RE 03-22-94.2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS RESOLUTION NO. 032294.2 WHEREAS, several civic and public organizations have heretofore felt a need to consolidate and join forces in creating a major, annual event to promote the City; and WHEREAS, a non-profit corporation known as Coppell Celebrates, Inc. has been meeting on a regular basis to develop a weekend event to be known as Coppell Celebrates FunFest; and WHEREAS, the volunteer work and non-profit status of the majority of participating organizations in the weekend warrants special consideration by the Coppell City Council to waive applicable fees; and WHEREAS, the most appropriate dates for the FunFest have been determined to be April 29, April 30th, and May 1st, 1994 at Andy Brown Park, and surrounding environments; and WHEREAS, profits generated by the weekend event will be used in the interest of citizens and children of Coppell. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: 1. That Friday, April 29, Saturday, April 30, and Sunday, May 1, 1994 be proclaimed as Coppell Celebrates FunFest Weekend; 2. That fees and sign requirements be waived; however, the following requirements will not be waived: a. State Ride certification/inspection report and proof of insurance. b. Inspections regarding health concerns: food sales (sources, storage and preparation), and all health code requirements. What types of food are being sold, and where they originated, and all health code requirements. c. Food sold by the carnival~ i.e., professional food sources, require a $50 permit and $5 for each stand. d. Dumpsters, temporary sanitation facilities, provisions for removal of animal waste, etc. e. Evidence of adequate parking and traffic control. f. Fire safety and all fire code requirements. g. Emergency aid provisions. h. All electrical code requirements. i. Other provisions that may relate to the safety and welfare of the citizens. 3. Coppell Celebrates shall be responsible for compensation for all off-duty policemen required to be present in order to maintain the safety of citizens during the FunFest. 4. That the money raisedthrough Coppell Celebrates FunFest will be donated to projects in the City of Coppell designed for the purpose of advancing the interests of the citizens of Coppell.
