RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL,
TEXAS, PROTESTING THE RENEWAL OF THE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE
LICENSE/PERMIT BY THE TEXAS ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE
COMMISSION FOR THE LONG BRANCH COUNTRY CLUB;
AUTHORIZING ITS EXECUTION BY THE MAYOR; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the renewal of the applications of the Long Branch County Club, N-
128986 and PE-128988, TABC No. 552951, is pending before the Texas Alcoholic
Beverage Commission, assigned Docket No. 453-93-379; and
WHEREAS, after full consideration of all pertinent matters, the City Council has
determined it is in the best interests of the City to protest the renewal of the Alcoholic
Beverage License/Permit for the Long Branch Country Club, because of an inadequate
water supply for fire flow requirements under the Fire Code of the City of Coppell, Texas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COPPELL, TEXAS, that:
1. The City of Coppell, Texas does hereby protest the renewal of the
applications of the Long Branch Country Club, N-198986 and PE-28988,
pending before the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission in TABC Case
No. 552951, the subject of Docket No. 458-93-379 before the State Office
of Administrative Hearings.
2. The City Council finds that it is in the best interests of the City and its
citizens to protest the renewal of said alcoholic beverage license and permit
because of an inadequate water supply for fire flow requirements, as
prescribed by the Fire Code of the City of Coppell, Texas, as amended.
3. The City Manager and City Attorney, and their agents, are authorized to
take any action consistent with this resolution.
4. This resolution shall become effective from and after its passage.
