. Remodel Project Update: The Information and Check Out Desks remain on the
punch list. New delivery dates have been projected.
. Workload Indicators: Statistics continue to rise. The increase in circulation since
completion of the remodel has "erased" the loss of circulation while the library was
closed for remodel in December 2004. Patron self-service accounted for 46% of the
checkouts and renewals in July. Staffing levels are being studied to reflect changes in
the library floorplan, patron self-service, and addition of Wednesday evening hours.
. Comments/Suggestions: There were several suggestions related to the acquisition of
new books and movies. Patron complaint regarding occasional lack of parental
supervision was discussed..
5. LIBRARY YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD INTERVIEWS: The Library Advisory
Board will interview applicants for Youth Advisory Board and make recommendations to
the City Council. Interviews are expected to be 10-15 minutes each. Tom Trahan, Beth
Sparks, and David Smith volunteered to be the interview committee. Melissa Hall
volunteered to fill in if one of the volunteers could not make the interviews. Interviews
are scheduled for Thursday, September 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Library Board
Room. Library Director Edwards will contact the City Secretary's office for clarification
of deadlines and duties and forward the information to the committee.
