OR 96-753 Prohibit parking on Burns Rd AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS ORDINANCE NO. 96753 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAFFER 8 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ADD SECTION 8-3-7, TRUCK PARKING, TO MAKE IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON TO STOP, PARK, OR STAND ANY VEHICLE WITH A RATED CAPACITY UNDER ONE AND ONE-HALF TONS ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER'S CLASSIFICATION ON BURNS ROAD FROM COPPELL ROAD TO HAMMOND ROAD AND TO DESIGNATE HAMMOND ROAD IN IT'S ENTIRETY AS TWO HOUR PARKING FOR VEHICLES WITH A RATED CAPACITY UNDER ONE AND ONE-HALF TONS ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER'S CLASSIFICATION; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended by amending Chapter 8, in pan to add Section 8-3-7. Truck Parking, to read as follows: "Sec. 8-3-7 TRUCK PARKING A. A person commits an offense if he stops, parks, or stands a vehicle with a rated capacity under one and one-half tons according to the manufacturer's classification on Burns Road from Coppell Road to Hammond Road. B. A person commits an offense if he leaves standing or parked an unattended vehicle with a rated capacity under one and one-half tons according to the manufacturer's classification, on Hammond Road, in its entirety, liar a period longer than two (2) hours. SECTION 2. That all provisions of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppelt, Texas, in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be, and the same are hereby. repealed. and all other provisions not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That should any word. phrase, paragraph, section or portion of this ordinance or the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby. be held to be void or unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of said ordinance or of the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby. which shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 4. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance or of the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction in the Municipal Court of the City of Coppell, Texas shall be subject to a fine not to exceed the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each offenses and each and every day such ofti~nse is continued shall constitute a new and separate offense. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and the publication of its caption, as the law in such cases provide.
