BM 2005-11-17 KCB Keep Coppell Beautiful Minutes of Meeting November 17, 2005 The Keep Coppell Beautiful Committee met on November 17, 2005, at 7pm in the Conference Room at the Coppell Service Center, 816 So. Coppell Rd., Coppell, Texas. The following members were present, John Dobson, Chairman, Chris Reed, Cindy Geppert, David Goodner, Tom Hudon, Brent Wooten, and City of Coppell Liaison: Amanda Vanhoozier, Community Programs Coordinator, and Carrie Stevenson, Special Projects Coordinator. Item 1:Call Meeting to Order John Dobson called meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Item 2:Consider Approval of October 20, 2005, Minutes Cindy Geppert moved to approve the minutes, and Brent Wooten seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously, 6-0. Item 3:Citizen’s Forum No citizens present. Item 4:Discussion and Consider Approval of E-Cycling Collection Plan. Discussed items that can be recycled, parking lot set up and advertising. No businesses allowed, just residential. City will be furnished with a manifest and $0.03 per pound rebate which will go to KCB. Amanda will send email to committee as a reminder. David Goodner moved to approve, and Cindy Geppert seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously, 6-0. Item 5:Discussion and consider approval of Holiday Parade Entry. Discussed options for parade entry. Will use a flat bed trailer with all the signs from past years relating to recycling, community gardens, Adopt-a Location, Bloomin’ Hot Tour, TX Landscape, mulching, garbage, farmer’s market, etc. Each committee member will be responsible for one item. Chris Reed motioned to approve, and David Goodner seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously, 6-0. Item 6:Discussion and consider approval of Clean Coppell Planning Committee . Amanda reported that all people on list have agreed to be on the committee Christopher Reed moved to approve the committee, and Cindy Geppert seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously, 6-0. Item 7:Discussion of AAL Program and Retail Center Surveys Surveys were turned in for retail center litter index. A quarterly schedule was set up for the KCB Adopt a Location: March 4 at 8 a.m. June 3 at 8 a.m. Sept 9 at 8 a.m. November 18 at 8 a.m. Item 8:Discussion of Keep America Beautiful Five Steps for Attitude Change John Dobson stated that he just wanted the committee to receive copies of the handout. Item 9:Discussion of Recycling and Solid Waste Report Amanda Vanhoozier explained the report. Item 10:Community Programs Report ? Amanda Vanhoozier introduced Carrie Stevenson, Special Events Coordinator. ? Community Gardens forming board of directors for 2006. ? Saturday, November 19, is last day of Farmer’s Market for the year. ?
