Item 5:
Overall, the event went smoother with less chaos than years before. There were
some suggestions to stagger the timing of the activities and to register volunteers
with a sign-in list. The band and the clown were great. There are five senior
citizens still needing landscape work. Amanda will contact the high school to see
if some students would like that as a project.
Next Clean Coppell is on April 21, 2007.
Item 6:
Discussion of AAL Program and Retail Center Surveys
Reported that trash from lunches was found on lots. Businesses need to make trash
receptacles with lids more accessible.
Proposed asking City to change ordinance regarding businesses who serve food to have
trash receptacles with lids outside.
Discussed making public aware of need to keep Coppell clean.
Discussed some type of award system through local businesses for citizens who pick up
litter on business properties. Recognition in the Coppell Gazette would be a good
incentive.
This will be an action item at next meeting. A list of businesses will be made available,
and Jean Murph will be contacted regarding newspaper space.
