RE 11-24-87.1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS RESOLUTION NO 112487.1 WHEREAS, the City of Coppell is fortunate to have a large number of industrial areas that must use intrastate trucking fleets, and WHEREAS, in 1980 Congress deregulated interstate trucking, resulting in increased competition and reduced shipping costs across the nation, and WHEREAS, Texas is losing jobs and tax revenue because of its trucking regulations, and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to protect the interest of the Coppell businesses. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: SECTION 1. Requests the Texas Railroad Commission to look into the deregulation of trucking; and reconsider the imposition that has been placed on businesses in the State of Texas. SECTION 2. The City Council supports intrastate trucking deregulation for the welfare of the Coppell Business citizens. SECTION 3. That a copy of this resolution be sent to each member of The Texas Railroad Commission. PASSED AND APPROVED this the ~ day of ~"~ , 1987.
