OR 96-744 Amends Uniform Building Code to establish an investigation fee AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS ORDINANCE NO. 96744 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY OF COPPELL EMPLOYEE POLICY AND PROCEDURES HANDBOOK BY ADOPTING AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY OF COPPELL EMPLOYEE POLICY AND PROCEDURES HANDBOOK, ATTACHED AS HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A '; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 93584 as amended and adopted on January 12, 1993, required that all personnel policies be reviewed and revised annually, and that any additions, deletions or changes to the City of Coppell Employee Policy Handbook, be approved by ordinance; and WHEREAS, the formal process for review of the City of Coppell Policies and Procedures has been completed; and WHEREAS, the City Council Personnel Policies Committee and City Council have reviewed the attached policies and determined the need and appropriateness to adopt the attached amendments; and WHEREAS, on January 23, 1996 the City Council approved the revised Employee Handbook policies; and WHEREAS, the City Council has established April 1, 1996 as the effective date for the amended policies; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 93584, as heretofore amended is hereby amended and the City of Coppell Employee Policy and Procedure Handbook be in the same is hereby amended by adding and inserting the following policies, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" : New Policy SOP #1150 - Family Medical Leave Act Revised Policies SOP #1111 - Performance Probationary Period SOP #1112 - Recruitment/Selection/Promotion SOP #1121 - Performance Evaluation System SOP # 1128 - Classification/Compensation SOP #1145 - Leave of Absence SOP #1161 - Tuition Reimbursemere SOP #1181 - Discipline SOP #1182 - Employee Appeals SOP #1189 - Controlled Substance/Alcohol Abuse/Drag Testing SECTION 2. All ordinances or policies and procedures as amended by this ordinance which conflict with any portion of this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. If any section, subsection, sentence, phrase, paragraph, word, or provision of this ordinance. or the personnel policies and procedures is amended herein is for any reason adjudged invalid, such adjudication shall not effect any other section, subsection, sentence, phrase, paragraph, word or provision of this ordinance or any of the personnel policies and procedures of the City of Coppell, Texas nor shall such adjudication affect any other section, subsection, sentence, phrase paragraph, word or provision of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell, Texas. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage, provided however, the amendments to the City of Coppell Employee Policies and Procedures adopted herein shall become effective on April 1. 1996.
