RE 03-11-86.2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS RESOLUTION NO. 031186.2 WHEREAS, Congressman Martin Frost is sponsoring on Saturday, March 15, 1986, "Coppell Child Safety Day" in response to the community's growing concern over the safety of our children; and WHEREAS, on that day parents will be given the opportunity to have their children videotaped, fingerprinted, and their vital statistics recorded; and WHEREAS, we find that such information would be crucial to the police authorities should any child in our community ever be missing or abducted; and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council of the City of Coppell that it should support the program sponsored by Congressman Frost. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Saturday, March 15, 1986, be, and the same is hereby, designated as "CoppeH Child Safety Day." SECTION 2. That the parents of this community be given notice, by the publication and distribution of this resolution, of the opportunity to have their children videotaped, fingerprinted, and other vital statistics recorded, so that should any child of the community be missing or abducted, such information would be immediately available to the police authorities. SECTION 3. That this resoltuion shall become effective immediately upon its passage, and the City Secretary is directed to mai] a copy of this resolution to The Honorable Martin Frost, Congress of the United States, House of Representatives, Washington, D.C. 20515.
