RE 11-12-85.2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS RESOLUTION NO. 111285.2 WHEREAS, Andrew Brown, Jr. served the City of Coppell, Texas, as Mayor for six years and served the City of Coppell, Texas, as Councilman for one year and resides at 533 Rocky Branch lane along with his wife, Para, and his daughter, Erin; and WHI~REAS, the City of Coppell, Texas, recognizes the fact that Andrew Brown, Jr. was the catalyst behind the dream of a central park and reereational facility to serve as the anchor for the northern boundary of Coppell's Town Center; and WHEREAS, the City of Coppell completed its first Park and Recreation Plan under the direction of Andrew Brown, Jr. in February, 1982, along with the participation of the Park Board, the City staff, and numerous citizens appointed by Mayor Brown; and WHEREAS, the City of Coppel] completed the first phase of its community park during Mayor Brown's tenure. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: That the 165 acres of land known today as Coppell Community Park, and located both east and west of Denton Tap Road and bounded on the north by Denton Creek and bounded on the south by Parkway Boulevard, is Hereby Dedicated and Forever Named as a Tribute to his Undying Energy and Forethought to the Needs of the Community, Andrew Brown, Jr. Community Park. That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage as the law. DULY PASSED by the City of Coppell, Texas, this 12th day of November, 1985.
