RE 11-08-83.1 RESOLUTION NO. 110883.1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL DESIGNATING CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS AS BEINC RESPONSIBLE FOR ACTINC FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF COPPELL IN DEALING WITH THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF PARTICIPATINC IN THE LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND ACT OF 1965; CERTIFYINC THAT THE CITY OF COPPELL IS ELICIBLE TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE UNDER SUCH PROCRAM. WHEREAS, the United States Congress has passed the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 (Public Law 88-578), authorizing the Secretary of the Interior to provide financial assistance to states, and political subdivisions thereof, for outdoor recreation purposes; and WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature has adopted Article 6081r, V.A.C.S., for the purpose of allowing the State of Texas, and its political subdivisions, to participate in the Federal program established under said Public Law 88-578, or such other programs as are hereinafter established by the Federal Government; and WHEREAS, the City of Coppell is fully eligible to receive assistance under this Program; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Coppell is desirous of authorizing its Mayor to represent and act for the City in dealing with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department concerning this Program; NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: Section I. That the City Council of the City of Coppell hereby certifies that the City of Coppell is eligible to receive assistance under Public Law 88-578, as augmented by Article 6081r, V.A.C.S. Section II. That the City Council hereby authorizes and directs its Mayor, Andrew Brown, Jr., to represent and act for the City of Coppell in dealing with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the purpose of this Program. The Mayor is hereby officially designated as the City's representative in this regard. Section III. The City Council hereby designates its City Manager as the official authorized to serve as the City's fiscal officer to receive Federal funds for purposes of this Program. Section IV. The City Council hereby specifically authorizes the Mayor herein designated to make application to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department concerning the acquisition of fifty-three acres and the development of a portion of an existing fifty-one acre tract of land, both tracts being a part of a park known as the Coppell Community Park in the City of Coppell. That the Coppell Co~nunity Park is hereby dedicated for public outdoor recreation purposes. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Coppell this C~ty Se~e~r~
