RE 02-22-83 RI~OLUTION OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TX
RESOLUTION NO. 022283
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas is interested in having
a hospital in the downtown portion of the Town Center to provide hospital and health
care facilities, medical training facilities, educational facilities, a wellness and fitness
center, and professional office buildings associated therewith; and
WllEREAS, the City Council of the City of Coppell is of the opinion that such
a facility would fulfill an urgent need and provide a means for the betterment of the
quality of life of the citizens of the community and would enhance their safety, and
provide needed care for its senior citizens; and
WNEREAB, the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent De Paul through its local
administrator, has expressed an interest in providing such health care service and
facilities and has expressed an interest in providing a minimum of a one hundred bed
hospital facility, which is greatly needed by the community; and
WlIEREA8, the City Council of the City of Coppell wishes to go on record as
expressing the need of the community for such a facility and to offer not only its
support, but the support and backing of all of the citizens of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COPPELL, TEXA~:
SECTION I.
That the City Council of the City of Coppell, joined by its many citizens, endorse
the establishment of such facility for which there is a present and urgent need, a need
which will continue to grow with the rapid growth being experienced by the community.
That such a facility is essential and necessary to provide for the health, safety, welfare
and general well being of all of the citizens of the City of Coppell and those residing
in adjacent communities.
SECTION H.
That the City Council of the City of Coppell officially endorses the establishment
of such facility at a particular site located in the Town Center, which is designated
for medical use and located at the northeast corner of Denton Tap Road and Parkway
Boulevard, such location being directly accross Parkway Boulevard from the City of
Coppel] Municipal Center Site.
That the City Council of the City of Coppell does hereby officiaRy endorse such
proposed facility as its emergency care and municipal medical treatment center and
pledges not only the cooperation of the City Council, but the cooperation and support
of all of the citizens of the City. The entire City welcomes the Daughters of Charity
of St. Vincent De Paul into the community and requests that this urgently needed
facility be brought to the City of Coppell, Texas.
SECTION IV.
That the City Secretary of the City of Coppel], Texas, is hereby directed to make
a distribution of this resolution to all concerned.
DULY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, this the
