RE 12-28-82 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS
RESOLUTION NO. 122882
WHEREAS, Parks of Coppell Joint Venture II, herreinafter called owner, is the
owner of approximately 766 acres of land located within the City of Coppell; and
WIclERF. AS, the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, has agreed to purchase
a Municipal Center Site of approximately 8 acres of land located within owner's property,
as more particularly described in the attached Exhibit "A", and, has agreed to purchase
a Park Site of approximately 51.343 acres of land located within owner's property, as
more particularly described in the attached Exhibit "B"; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has also agreed to purchase an option on two
additional tracts of said ]and for possible future park sites as set out in Exhibit "C"
describing 53.398 acres of such land and Exhibit "D" describing 60o186 acres of such
land; and
WIIEREA$, the City Council has concluded that the Mayor of The City of
Coppel] should be authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City all contracts,
notes, deeds of trusts, option agreements, assignments of option rights and all other
instruments necessary to effect such transfer and acquire such options including any
necesssary modification to such instruments as first drawn and considered by the City
Council
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED 13Y THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COPPELL, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Andrew Brown, Jr., the person holding the office of Mayor of
the City of Coppell, Texas, is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on
behalf of the City of Coppe]l, without further authorization from the City Council,
the Contract of Sale between the City of Coppell and Parks of Coppell Joint Venture
II, one certain note payable to North Dallas Bank & Trust Co. in the principal sum of
$544,558.42, the Deeds of Trust, option agreements, assignments of option rights and
all other instruments and acts necessary to effect the orderly purchase of such property
and option rights on the lands described in the exhibits attached hereto and to perfect
the security thereon.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage.
