OR 99-872 Prohibits parking on part of Fritz, Southwestern, Royal, Gateway, Wrangler & Airline AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS ORDINANCE NO. 99872 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, BY AMENDING SECTION 8-3-1A OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS; PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON DESIGNATED PORTIONS OF FRITZ DRIVE, SOUTHWESTERN BOULEVARD, ROYAL LANE, GATEWAY BOULEVARD, WRANGLER DRIVE, AIRLINE DRIVE; AND TO APPEAL SUCH PROHIBITION FOR COTTON ROAD; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 8-3-1A of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell, Texas be and the same is hereby amended in part to make it unlawful for any person to stop, stand or park a vehicle at anytime in violation of any official sign, curb or street marking on certain streets or portions of streets by adding and deleting the following portions of streets to the parking prohibition to read as follows: ADD: "FRITZ DRIVE on both sides in its entirety at all times." "SOUTHWESTERN BOULEVARD from Coppell Road to Freeport Parkway at all times." "ROYAL LANE on both sides in its entirety at all times." "GATEWAY BOULEVARD on both sides in its entirety at all times." "WRANGLER DRIVE on both sides in its entirety at all times." "AIRLINE DRIVE on both sides in its entirety at all times." DELETE: "(2) COTTON ROAD on both sides of Freeport Parkway to Gateway Boulevard at all times." SECTION 2. That the City Engineer is authorized to erect appropriate signs to give notice to the public that it is unlawful for any person to park a vehicle at the locations designated in this Ordinance. SECTION 3. An offense committed before the effective date of this ordinance is governed by the prior law and the provisions of the Code of Ordinances, as amended, in effect when the offense was committed and the former law is continued in effect for this purpose. SECTION 4. That all provisions of the Code of Ordinances of the city of Coppell, Texas in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed, and all other provisions not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That should any word, phrase, paragraph, section or phrase of this ordinance or of the code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, be held to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole, or any part or provision thereof other than the part so decided to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, and shall not affect the validity of the Code of Ordinances as a whole. SECTION 6. That any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions or terms of this ordinance or of the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction in the Municipal Court of the City of Coppell, Texas shall be subject to a free not to exceed the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each offense; and each and every day such offense is continued shall constitute a new and separate offense. SECTION 7. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and the publication of its caption, as the law and charter in such cases provide. 2 DULY PASSED by the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, this the · ~F1 day of /'~fg,,--// , 1999.
