RESOLUTION NO. 071079
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE
1, H.B. 1060 RELATING TO THE APPRAISAL OF AGRICULTURAL
LAND SHALL NOT APPLY TO 1979 TAXES OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, Article 1 of H.B. 1060, Acts 66th Legislature of
Texas, R.S., relating to the appraisal of agricultural land (as therein
defined) by the City of Coppell, Texas, for tax purposes provides that
the governing body may prescribe that the provisions thereof do not
apply to 1979 taxes of the City of Coppell, Texas, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, has
considered the provisions of said H.B. 1060 and has determined that
Article 1 thereof should not be applied to its assessment, levying and
collection of ad valorem taxes for the City of Coppell, Texas, for 1979;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COPPELL, TEXAS;
SECTION 1. That the provisions of Article 1 of H.B. 1060,
Acts 66th Legislature of Texas, R.S., relating to the appraisal of ag-
ricultural land shall not apply to the assessing, levying and collection
of 1979 ad valorem taxes by the City of Coppell, Texas.
SECTION 2. The tax assessor and tax collector for the City
of Coppell, Texas, shall be furnished with a certified copy hereof and
shall be instructed to complete his appraisal of all taxable property
within the City of Coppell, Texas, without application of the provisions
of said Article 1 of H.B. 1060, but otherwise in compliance with all
other applicable Articles of said H.B. 1060 and all other laws applicable
to the taxation of taxable property within the City of Coppell, Texas.
DULY PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
