The City Council of the City of Coppell met in a special called session
for a reception for applicants applying for appointment to the City's
Boards and Commissions at 6:30 p.m. and an Executive session at 7:30
p.m. on Monday, September 11, 1989, in the atrium of Town Center and
Council Executive Chambers. Those members present were:
Mark Wolfe, Mayor
Dean Wilkerson, Mayor Pro Tem
David M. Thomas, Councilman
Tom Morton, Councilman
Bill Smothermon, Councilman
Jim Cowman, Councilman
Rom Robertson, Councilman
John A. Nelson, Councilman
Item 1: Hosting of reception for applicants to the various Boards and
Commissions.
The City hosted a reception for applicants applying for appointment to
the City's Boards and Commission. Those present and autending the
reception were City Manager Alan D. Ratliff, City Attorney Larry
Jackson, City SecreUary Dorothy Timmons, Deputy City Manager/Finance
Director Frank Trando, Assistant City Manager/Personnel Vivyon V.
Bowman, Interim Chief of Police Jack Foley, Fire Chief Wes Kilcrease,
Director of Public Works Steve Goram, Library Director Judi Biggerstaff,
and City Engineer Russell Doyle. Also assisting with the reception were
Dale Jackson, Chief Building Official/Board of Adjustment Liaison,
Taryon Bowman, Planning & Zoning Coordinator/Planning & Zoning Liaison,
Corrie Walker, Executive Secretary/Economic & Development Liaison, Linde
Varonich, Environmental Health Officer/Animal Control Appeal Board
Liaison, Richard Diano, Park Superintendent/Perk Board Liaison,
Administrative Secretaries Linda Glidewell, Sheri Moino, Rose Marie
McMullen, Secretary Martha Mann, Library Circulation Manager Ruth
Losinski and Assistant City Secretary Linda Grau. Board of Adjustment
Chairman MarCy Walsh, Economic and Development Board Chairman Lee
Richardson, Planning and Zoning Commission Chairman Joe Munsch and Domna
Merchant, Library Board member were also present.
Item 2: Call to Order (Open to the Public)
Mayor Wolfe called the meeting to order and thanked City staff for their
help in planning and coordinating the reception. He also informed those
present of the process of selecting and appointing applicants to the
City's Boards and Commission. He further stated that the appointments
would be announced at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 12,
1989, with the swearing in ceremonies taking place at the City Council
meeting of Tuesday, September 26, 1989.
EXECUTIVE SESSION (Closed to the Public)

A. Discussion of personnel matters relating to appointments to
City Boards and Coa~alesions
Mayor Wolfe declared the public session closed for an Executive Session
on Monday, September 11, 1989, at 7:&& p.m. as allowed under the above

recited article. Mayor Wolfe adjourned the Executive Session at 9:20
p.m. on Monday, September 11, 1989, and opened the public sessiou.
There being no further business to come before the City Council the
meeting was adjourned.
