CM 1987-04-06 Minutes of April 6, 1987 The City Council of the City of Coppell met in Special Called Session on Monday, April 6, 1987 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Coppell Town Center. The following members were present: Lou Duggan, Mayor Dale Ware, Mayor Pro Tem (late arrival) ~'~ Dean Wilkerson, Councilman Tom Morton, Councilman Bill Smothermon, Councilman Mark Wolfe, Councilman Dan Stanton, Councilman Councilman Jim Cowman was not present. Also present were City Manager Alan D. Ratliff, City Secretary Dorothy Timmons and City Attorney Larry Jackson. The meeting was called to order. ELECTION Item 1: Canvass the returns and declare the results of City Officers Election held on Saturday, April 4, 1987. City Attorney Larry Jackson read the canvass and results of the recently conducted City election. A copy of the return sheet from this election is attached as a permanent part of these minutes. Following discussion, Councilman Morton moved that Resolution 040687.1 be approved. Councilman Stanton seconded; motion carried unanimously with Councilmen Wilkerson, Morton, Smothermon, Wolfe and Stanton voting in favor of the motion. Item iA: Consider approval of a Resolution adopting an order calling a run-off election for Saturday, April 25, 1987. Councilman Morton moved that Resolution 040687.2 be approved with the run-off date being set for May 2, 1987. Councilman Stanton seconded; motion carried unanimously with Councilmen Wilkerson, Morton, Smothermon, Wolfe and Stanton voting in favor of the motion. EXECUTIVE SESSION Item 2: Article 6252-17, Section 2 (f) discussion with respect to the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property. A. Review matters related to the condemnation of the railroad crossing at Royal Lane. The meeting then went into Executive Session as allowed under the above stated article.
