CM 1986-04-04 Minutes of April 4, 1986 The City Council of the City of Coppe!l met in a special called session on Friday, April 4, 1986 at 6:00 p.m. in the High School Administration Building. The following members were present: Lou Duggan, Mayor Bunny Thompson, Mayor Pro Tem Dale Ware, Councilman John Bailey, Councilman Walter Pettijo~n, Councilman Bill Smothermo~, Councilman (late arrival) Also present were City Manager, Frank A. Proctor, Jr., City Attorney Larry Jackson and City Secretary Dorothy Timmons. The meeting was called to order amc everyone asked to stand while Councilman Pettijohn gave the invocaticn. STAFF REPORTS AND REQUESTS Item 1: To consider Coppell's City Conncil recommendation to Dallas County concerning relocation cf Beltline Road. Councilman Bailey made comments concert_lng the meeting held om Thursday, April 3, 1986 at the First Coppell Bank, with the adjoining property owners of Beltline Road. During this discussion Councilman Smothermon arrived. Following this discussion Councilman Bailey moved that the City of Coppell.not oppose Dallas County's effort to relocate Beltline Road to the southern alignment. Mayor Pro Tem Thompson seconded; motion failed 2-3 with Mayor Pro Tem Thompson and Councilman Bailey voting in favor of the motion and Councilman Ware, Councilman Pet=ijohn and Councilman Smothermon voting against the motion. Following further discusson Councilman Smothermon moved that tbs City of Coppell inform Dallas County that the City of Coppell would like Beltline Road built in its present alignment and that the City accept Terra's co-~=ttment for assessment for improvements along the roadway. Councilman Pettijohn seconded; motion carried 3-2 with Councilman Ware, Councilman Pettijohn and Councilman Smothermon voting in favor of the motion and Mayor Pro Tem Thompson and Councilman Bailey voting against the motion.
