CM 1983-09-21 Minutes of September 21, 1983 The City Council of the City of Coppell met in special called session jointly with the Planning and Zoning Commission on the 21st day of September, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. in the High School Administration Building. The following members were present: Andrew Brown, Jr., Mayor Orville Mayo, Mayor Pro Tem Glen White, Councilman Dale Ware, Councilman Bunny Thompson, Councilman Lou Duggan, Councilman Also present were members of the Planning and Zoning Commission, the City Manager, the City Secretary, the City Attorney, the City Engineers, the City Planning Consultants, and the City Planning Coordinator. Mayor Brown called the joint meeting to order and asked everyone to stand while Councilman White gave the invocation. Following the invocation, Mayor Brown stated that the meeting was being held as a joint public hearing for the purpose of considering a zoning change request of L & N Land Corporation for a zoning change from SF-12, Commercial, Retail, SF-9 and Multi-Family to PD Planned Development. The property consists of approximately 420 acres and is located north of Sandy Lake Road, east and west of Allen Road. Mayor Brown then called on Mr. Steve Crim, Mr. Wayne Ferguson and Mr. Jack Hatchel to make the presentation concerning the proposed change. Following the presentation, Mayor Brown declared thepublic hearing open and asked for those persons who wished to speak for the proposed change. Those persons speaking were Mr. Jim Nordstrom, Mr. John Kidd, Mr. Clyde Ehlers, Mr. Ray Warren, Mr. James Blythe. Those persons having questions concerning the project were Mrs. Violet Cobb, Mrs. Betty Byrd. Mayor Brown then asked for those persons who wished to speak against the proposed change. There were none. The public hearing was then declared closed and Mayor Brown turned the meeting over to Chairman Smedul for deliberation by the Planning and Zoning Commission. The City Council then recessed their meeting until Tuesday, September 27, 1983 at which time they will consider the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission and continue deliberation on the L & N Zoning change.
