CM 1985-03-19 Minutes of March 19, 1985
The City Council of the City of Coppell met in special called session on
Tuesday, March 19, 1985 at 7:30 p.m. in the Coppell High School
Administration Building. The following members were present:
Dale Ware, Councilman
Lou Duggan, Councilman
John Bailey, Councilman
Walter PettiJohn, Councilman
Mayor Andrew Brown and Mayor Pro Tem Bunny Thompson were not present.
Also present was City Secretary Dorothy Timmons.
It was the consensus of those Council members present that Councilman
Ware would chair the meeting. The meeting was then called to order by
Councilman Ware.
PUBLIC HEARINGS
1. To consider the annexation of approximately 72.022 acres of land
located east of State Highway 121 and north of the Coppell City limits
on request of Mr. Johnny Weger
Mr. Johnny Weger made the presentation to the Council. Councilman Ware
then stated that this meeting is the second of two required public
hearings for annexation. He then declared the public hearing open and
asked for those persons who wished to speak in favor of the proposed
annexation. There were none. Councilman Ware then asked for those
persons who wished to speak against the proposed annexation. Again,
there were none. The public hearing was declared closed. Following
discussion by the Council, Councilman Pe=tijohn moved that the
annexation be approved and that an ordinance be prepared for
consideration at the April 9, 1985 City Council meeting; Councilman
Bailey seconded and motion carried 4-0.
The meeting was then adjourned.
