CM 1985-05-01 Minutes of May 1, 1985
The City Council of the City of Coppell met in special called session on
Wednesday, May 1, 1985 in the Coppell High School Administration
Building. The following members were present:
Lou Duggan, Mayor
Bunny Thompson, Mayor Pro Tem
Dale Ware, Councilman
John Bailey, Councilman
Walter Pettijohn, Councilman
William C. Smothermon, Jr., Councilman
Also present was City Secretary Dorothy Timmons, Finance Consultant
Lewis McLain and City Auditors Lou Grabowsky and John Vollmer.
Mayor Duggan declared the meeting open.
EXECUTIVE SESSION (Closed to the public)
1. Article 6252-17, Section 2 (g) discussion concerning personnel
The meeting was declared closed to the public as allowed under the above
stated article. Following the executive session, the meeting was
declared open.
OTHER BUSINESS
2. Consideration of personnel based upon matters considered in the
executive session
Councilman Smothermon moved that the City authorize Arthur Anderson and
Lewis McLain to determine the number and experience level of personnel
needed during the interim, that after the one-day review takes place a
written proposal be submitted to the City, that a telephone consensus be
given by the Council, and that a formal presentation be made at the
Council meeting of May 14, 1985; Councilman Ware seconded and motion
carried 5-0.
Councilman Pettijohn then moved that the resignation of Administrative
Secretary Anne McDowell be accepted; Councilman Bailey seconded and
motion carried 4-0.
RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES
3. Consider approval of Resolution designating signatures of record for
The First Security Bank and Trust
Councilman Smothermon moved that Mayor Lou Duggan, Mayor Pro Tem Bunny
Thompson, and City Secretary Dorothy Timmons be designated as signatures
of record and that Resolution No. 050185 be approved; Councilman
Pettijohn seconded and motion carried 5-0.
The meeting was then adjourned.
