OR 2007-1154 Parking vehicles on Northpoint Drive AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS ORDINANCE NO. 2007-1154 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, ARTICLE 8-3 PARKING, SECTION 8-3-6, TO PROHIBIT PARKING OF VEHICLES OVER ONE AND ONE-HALF TONS ON NORTHPOINT DRIVE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) PER OFFENSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS; SECTION 1. That Article 8-3, Section 8-3-6 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 8-3-6. Truck parking (excess of one and one-half tons). “ B. A person commits an offense if he stops, parks, or stands a vehicle with a rated capacity over one and one-half tons according to the manufacturer’s classification on the following streets: . . . Northpoint Drive From its point of intersection with Sandy Lake Road south and westward to its point of intersection with Royal Lane. … ." SECTION 2. That all provisions of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell, Texas, in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed, and all other provisions not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That should any word, sentence, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase or section of this ordinance, or of the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, be adjudged or held to be 1 ordinance or the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, which shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 4. That any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance or of the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction in the municipal court of the City of Coppell, Texas, shall be subject to a fine not to exceed the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each offense, and each and every day said violation is continued shall constitute a separate offense. SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage as the law and charter in such cases provide.
