LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES
February 2007
The William T. Cozby Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session on Thursday,
February 8, 2007 in the administrative board room at the William T. Cozby Public Library.
1.CALL TO ORDER
: The meeting was called to order by Chair, Douglas Johnson at 7:05
p.m. Other board members present were Linda McCrary, Tom Trahan, Kathy Ross, Marcia
Raines, Nancy Tao and Morgan Griffin. Staff in attendance were Library Director, Kathy
Edwards, Assistant Library Director, Connie Moss and Sr.Administrative Technician, Janet
Lance.
2.APPROVAL OF BOARD MINUTES DATED January 11, 2007:
Tom Trahan
moved to approve the minutes and Linda McCrary seconded the motion. All were in favor and
the minutes were approved.
3.CITIZENS’ APPEARANCES:
None
4.LIBRARY DIRECTOR’S REPORT
:

Workload indicators:
Circulation rose 4% and gate count (13%). Internet use is up
18% including WiFi. Program attendance and number are both up 12%.

Comments/Suggestions:
Suggestions relating to the acquisition of new books,
movies and periodicals were given to Public Services staff for evaluation and follow-
up. This month received request to consider adding additional diner booth which
staff acknowledged with a letter.
5.FOUNDATION:
Kathy Edwards signed the paperwork to allow Tom Trahan to proceed
with the next step in the application process.
6.INPUT TO THE CHAIRMAN’S REPORT TO CITY COUNCILE FEBRUARY 27,
2007:
Kathy handed out a PowerPoint Presentation on the highlights of the library statistics,
accomplishments and future goals of the library. Library board members suggested these items
be included in the presentation to the council: information on circulation, WiFi and E-Branch.
7. ADJOURNMENT:
Kathy Ross moved and Tom Trahan seconded to adjourn at
7:57 pm. Carried.
