CM 1982-05-11 Minutes of May ll! 1982
The City Council of the City of Coppell met in regular session on May 11,
1982, at 7:30 p.m. in the Coppell High School Cafeteria.
The following members were present:
Andrew Brown, Jr., Mayor
Orville Mayo, Mayor Pro Tem
Walter Pettijohn, Councilman
Glen White, Councilman
Dale Ware, Councilman
Bunny Thompson, Councilman
Also present were City Administrator Jim Elium and City Secretary Dorothy
Timmons.
The meeting was called to order and eve~one asked to stand while Councilman
Pettijohn gave the invocation. Following the invocation, Councilman White
moved that the reading of the minutes be waived; Councilman Ware seconded and
motion carried 5-0. Councilman Pettijohn then moved that the minutes be approved
as submitted; Mayor Pro Tem Mayo seconded and motion carried 5-0.
ITEM NO. 4: Presentation of Certificate of Training
Mayor Brown then presented a certificate of training to Inspector Lorenzo
Salinas and commended both Mr. Salinas and Building Inspector Troy Glidewell
on the continued improvement of this department.
ITEM NO. 5: Consider approval of preliminary and final plat on Gateway
Industrial Park (tabled from 4-27-82)
Mr. Bob ~le was present to discuss this item with the Council. Following
discussion, Councilman White moved that it be tabled pending review and a
recommendation from traffic engineers; Councilman Thompson seconded and motion
carried 5-0.
ITEM NO. 11: Approval of Bills
Councilman Pettijohn moved that the bills be approved for payment; Councilman
Ware seconded and motion carried 5-0.
The remainder of the Council meeting was tabled due to severe weather.
