OR 95-727 Prohibit parking on portions of Cotton Rd AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS ORDINANCE NO. 95727 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 8-3-1(A) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS; MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO PARK A VEHICLE ON COTTON ROAD FROM FREEPORT PARKWAY TO GATEWAY BOULEVARD, ON BOTH SIDES OF SOUTH BELT LINE ROAD FROM I.H. 635 WESTBOUND FRONTAGE ROAD TO EAST BELT LINE ROAD/ SOUTHWESTERN BOULEVARD, AND BOTH SIDES OF DENTON TAP ROAD FROM THE NORTH CITY LIMITS TO EAST BELT LINE ROAD / SOUTHWESTERN BOULEVARD; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 8-3-1A of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell, Texas be and the same is hereby amended in part to add the following portions of streets to the parking prohibition to read as follows: "COTTON ROAD on both sides, from Freeport Parkway to Gateway Boulevard." "SOUTH BELT LINE ROAD on both sides, from I.H. 635 westbound Frontage Road to East Belt Line Road / Southwestern Boulevard." "DENTON TAP ROAD on both sides, from the north city limits to East Belt Line Road / Southwestern Boulevard." SECTION 2. City Engineer is authorized to erect appropriate signs to give notice to the public that it is unlawtifl for any person to park a vehicle at the location designated in this Ordinance. SECTION 3. An offense committed before the effective date of this ordinance is governed by the prior law and the provisions of the code of Ordinances, as amended, in effect when the offense was committed and the former law is continued in effect for this purpose. SECTION 4. All parts of ordinances inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 5. If any article, paragraph or subdivision, clause or provision of this ordinance or of the code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, shall be adjudged invalid or held unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole or any part of provision thereof, other than the part so decided to be invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 6. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance or of the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction in the Municipal Court of the City of Coppell, Texas shall be subject to a fine not to exceed the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each oft~nses and each and every day such offense is continued shall constitute a new and separate offense. SECTION 7. This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and the publication of its caption, as the law in such cases provide.
