CM 1995-10-17 MINUTES OF OCTOBER 17, 1995 _._ The City Council of the City of Coppell met in Special Called Session on Tuesday, October 17, 1995 at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of Town Center, 255 Parkway Boulevard, Coppell, Texas. The following members were present: Tom Morton, Mayor Ron Robertson, Mayor Pro Tem Norm Alexander, Councilmember Chuck Sturges, Councilmember Danny L. Watson, Councilmember Marsha Tunnell, Councilmember Candy Sheehan, Councilmember Councilmember Mayo was absent from the meeting. Also present were City Manager Jim Witt, City Secretary Linda Grau and City Attorney David Berman. REGULAR SESSION (Open to the Public) 1. Call to order. Mayor Morton called the meeting to order. 2. Discussion and consideration of approving an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 95709 (An Ordinance of the City of Coppell, Texas, Ordering an Election on Proposed Amendments to the Home Rule Charter of the City of Coppell), Section 6, Proposition 3 changing 8.03B to 8.03A and deleting 11.25; Proposition No. 8 making the language consistent with the text of Exhibit A of Ordinance No. 95709; and Proposition No. 14 changing Section 6.13 to 6.12 and amending text, and authorizing the Mayor to sign. Mayor Pro Tem Robertson moved to approve Ordinance No. 95723 changing wording to Proposition 3, and authorizing the Mayor to sign. Councilmember Sheehan seconded the motion; the motion carried 6-0 with Mayor Pro Tem Robertson and Councilmembers Alexander, Sturges, Watson, Tunnell, and Sheehan voting in favor of the motion. Mayor Pro Tern Robertson moved to approve Ordinance No. 95723 changing wording Proposition 8. Councilmember Sheehan seconded the motion; the motion carried 6-0 with Mayor Pro Tem Robertson and Councilmembers Alexander, Sturges, Watson, Tunnell, and Sheehan voting in favor of the motion. SM101795 Page 1 of 2 Mayor Pro Tem Robertson moved to approve Ordinance No. 95723 changing wording to Proposition 14, and authorizing the Mayor to sign. Councilmember Tunnell' seconded the motion; the motion carried 6-0 with Mayor Pro Tem Robertson and Councilmembers Alexander, Sturges, Watson, Tunnell, and Sheehan voting in favor of the motion. Mayor Morton recommended that a copy of the proposed charter changes be mailed to all voters in the City of Coppell. Consensus of Council was to proceed with the mailing.
