CM 1996-03-04 MINUTES OF MARCH 4, 1996 The City Council of the City of Coppell met in Special Called Session on Monday, March 4, 1996 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of Town Center, 255 Parkway Boulevard, Coppell, Texas. The following members were present: Tom Morton, Mayor Ron Robertson, Mayor Pro Tem Norm Alexander, Councilmember Chuck Sturges, Councilmember Danny L. Watson, Councilmember Marsha Tunnell, Councilmember Lanny Mayo, Councilmember Candy Sheehan, Councilmember Also present were City Manager Jim Witt, City Secretary Linda Grau and City Attorney Peter G. Smith. REGULAR SESSION (Open to the Public) 1. Call to order. Mayor Morton called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. WORK SESSION (Open to the Public) 2. Convene Work Session A. Discussion of Runway 16/34. SUPPLEMENT: EXECUTIVE SESSION (Closed to the Public) 3. Convene Executive Session A. Section 551.074, Texas Government Code - Personnel Matters 1. City Manager - Evaluation SM 030496 Page 1 of 2 Mayor Morton convened into Executive Session at 8:12 p.m. as allowed under the above- stated article. Mayor Morton adjourned the Executive Session at 8:43 p.m. and opened the Regular Session. SECOND SUPPLEMENT: REGULAR SESSION (Open to the Public) 4. Necessary action resulting from Executive Session There was no action taken under this item. 5. Consider approval of an Ordinance amending Article 1-12, Code of Conduct, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell, TX and authorizing the Mayor to sign. Mayor Morton stated that the committee was made up of Candy Sheehan, Councilmember; Kip Allison, Special Counsel; Madge Cruse, Special Counsel; JoAnn Harris Hill, Conduct Review Board Member; Clay Phillips, Assistant City Manager/Fire Chief; himself; and Linda Grau, City Secretary. Mayor Morton gave an overview of the Code of Conduct Committee's recommendations to Council. Following discussion, Mayor Morton stated that a public hearing will be held at the City Council Meeting of March 12, 1996, prior to considering approval of amended ordinance. No action was taken on this item. There being no further business to come before the City Council, the meeting was adjourned.
