Item 9: Community Programs Report ? 1. Rolling Oaks Memorial Center – Following the last meeting when Ron Curran brought the trash issues at the cemetery site to our attention, the contractor was contacted by the parks director and parks manager. They reminded him that he is contractually obligated to have trash receptacles on site and can be fined if the trash issues continue. I also spoke with our AAL contact at the Container Store and brought to her attention that some of this trash could be blowing into the pond on their site. It has improved, but there are still some issues. Any further dealings will have to be directed to code enforcement and building inspections, as this is not part of KCB’s “jurisdiction” since we are dealing with contractors and a construction site. ? 2. Coppell Community Garden - Share the Harvest donated over 13,000 pounds in 2008. This is the highest yield since the gardens were started in 1998. The CCG has suspended Youth Action volunteer hours until February 14. CCG annual signup will be on Saturday, February 7, at the Fire Training Center at Fire Station #3 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. ? 3. The next collection will be Saturday, April 4, from 9 am–1 pm at Town Center Elementary in conjunction with Earth Fest. Thank you to Brent, Angie and James for coming out in the cold and helping out! ? 5. Recycling Cart rollout – The cart rollout has begun.
