AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS
ORDINANCE NO. 91500-A-532
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS,
AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 91500, BY
REPEALING AND REPLACING SECTION 12-31-7.4, RULES
FOR COMPUTING NUMBER OF PARKING SPACES.;
PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS
CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY CLAUSE OF A
FINE NOT TO EXCEED TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS
($2,000) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That Ordinance No. 91500 of the City of Coppell, Texas as
Section 12-31-7
heretofore amended be and the same is hereby amended by amending , by
repealing and replacing Subsection 4. to read as follows:
Section 12-31-7
Rules for computing number of parking spaces.
. . . . .
4. “Whenever a building constructed and issuance of its initial certificate of
occupancy results in an increase in the number of employees, dwelling
units, seating capacity, and/or modifies its use, the building official shall
recalculate the number of required parking spaces as provided in this
article. In the event the recalculation results in an increase in the number
of required spaces, the owner or occupant must comply with the
recalculated parking requirements or seek a special exception under this
Chapter.”
SECTION 2.
That all ordinances and provisions of the Ordinances of the City of Coppell,
Texas in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed, and all
other provisions not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and
effect.
SECTION 3
. That should any word, phrase, paragraph, section or portion of this
ordinance, or of the Ordinances, as amended hereby, be held to be void or unconstitutional, the

same shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of said ordinance or of the Ordinances,
as amended hereby, which shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4. An offense committed before the effective date of this ordinance is governed
by prior law and the provisions of the Ordinances, as amended, in effect when the offense was
committed and the former law is continued in effect for this purpose.
SECTION 5. That any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this
ordinance or of the ordinances, as amended hereby, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and,
upon conviction in the municipal court of the City of Coppell, Texas, shall be subject to a fine not to
exceed the sum of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) for each offense; and each and every day said
violation is continued shall constitute a separate offense.
SECTION 6. That this ordinance shall become effective immediately from and after its
passage and publication of the caption as the law and charter in such cases provide.
