AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS
ABOLISHING THE COPPELL MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 1
(DISTRICT); PROVIDING THAT THE SERVICES FORMERLY
FURNISHED AND FUNCTIONS FORMERLY PERFORMED BY THE
DISTRICT WILL BE FURNISHED AND PERFORMED BY THE CITY;
PROVIDING THAT THE PROPERTY AND OTHER ASSETS OF THE
DISTRICT SHALL BE VESTED IN THE CITY; PROVIDING THAT THE
LIABILITY FOR BONDS AND OTI tER OBLIGATIONS OF THE DISTRICT
SHALL BE ASSUMED BY THE CITY; PROVIDING THAT THE CITY
COUNCIL SHALL LEVY AND COLLECT TAXES ON ALL TAXABLE
PROPERTY IN THE CITY IN AMOUNTS SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE
PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST ON SUCH OBLIGATIONS; PROVIDING A
REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the CoppelI Mt!niciixd Utility District No. 1 (the "District") was initia|ly
created by the City of CoppeI1 wholly within the boundaries of the City of Coppell; and
WttEREAS, the City Cokmcil of the City of Coppell finds and determines that the
Coppcll Municipal Utility District No. 1 is no longer needed, and the sexMces furnished and
functions performed by the 1)ist~ ~ct can be furnished a3d performed by the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cop?ell further fi.~ds and determines that
the abolition of the District is in the best interests of the residents and property in the
municipality and the District; NOW TItEREFORE,
lIE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS
SECTION 1:
On a w>te of at least two-thirds of the entire membership of the City Council of the
City of Coppell, Texas, the City Council finds the Coppelt Municit>al Utility District No. 1,
located wholly within the corporate city limits of the City of Coppell, is no longer needed
and the services furnished and fkmctions performed by the District can be furnished and
performed by the City of CoppclI, Texas and the abolition of the District is in the best

interests of the residents and property in the City and in the District.
SECTION 22,:
Based upon such findings, the City Council of the City of CoppeIl hereby abolishes
the Coppell MunipaI Utility District No. 1, in the manner provided by Section 43.074 of the
Texas Local Government Code.
SECTION 3:
That upon the adoption of this ordinance, the City of Coppell shall hereafter perform
the services and finctions that were performed by the District.
SECTION 4:
That upon the adoption of this ordinance, the property and other assets of the
District are hereby vested in the City of Coppell, and the liability for bonds and other
obligations of the District, if any, are hereby asstuned by the City of Coppell.
SECTION 4:
That upon the adoption of this ordinance, the City shall leW and collect taxes on all
taxable property in the City in amounts sufficient to pay the principal and interest on the
obligations of the District assumed by the City, if any, as such principal and interest becomes
due and payable.
SECTION 5:
That the City Secretary is directed to publish this ordinance in its entirety one time
in the City's official newspaper.
SECTION 8: REPEALING CLAUSE
That all provisions of ordinances of the City of CoppcI1, Texas, in conflict with the

provisions of this ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed, and all other provisions
not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 9: SEVERABILITY CLAUSE
That should any sentence, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase or section of this
ordinance be adjudged or held to he unconstitt~tional, illegal or invalid, the same shalI not
affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole, or any part or provision thereof other than
the part so decided to be uncor~stitutionaI, illegal or invalid, and shall not affect the validity
of the Ordinance as a whole.
SECTION 10: EFBECTIVE DATE
Subject to the requirement of publication of this ordinance, this ordinance shall take
effect immediately from and after its passage.
