Angelo Vacarro
City staff members present were:

Item 1: Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by
Chairman Richardson, noting a quorum was present.
Item 2: Review and Approval of Minutes: The minutes of the
May 2, 1990, meeting were reviewed. Regina Johnson noted
two corrections to the minutes: Boardmember Richard
Johnson was omitted as an attendee of the meeting; and
in Item 3, line 8, the first word of the sentence should
have been park instead of part. Angelo Vacarro made a
motion that the minutes be approved with the two noted
corrections. David Greer seconded the motion. The
motion carried and the minutes were approved.
Item 3: Review and Discussion of Major Projects:
Video Production - Richard Johnson reported that they are
still waiting for a bid from the Coppell resident who
will be producing the video. This individual already has
a good amount of footage of the new high school,
Christmas lights in Coppell, etc.
City Loao - Richard Johnson also reported that the artist
revised the printing of "Coppell" under the logo and has
produced drawings showing the logo in actual use; i.e.,
on the water tower, City vehicles, etc. The logo will
be ready for presentation to City Council on Tuesday,
June 12. The artist, art director, and University of
North Texas professor involved in the project will be in
attendance at the meeting.

Bicycle Race - Angelo Vacarro advised the Board that they
have obtained a major sponsor for the Coppell Classic
Criterium. Zenith Data Systems will contribute $3,500.
The race will be held June 23 and 24 at Coppell High
School. Various civic clubs and groups will have booths
set up at the race. Hopefully, the Criterium will become
a yearly community event.
Goods in. Transit - Alan Ratliff stated that this issue
may be coming back before the Board and Council in the
near future depending on commercial prospects.
Economic Development Board Memberships - Alan Ratliff
suggested we invite the School Board to make an
appointment to the Economic Development Board. David
Greer made a recommendation that the Chamber of Commerce
and the School Board appoint a representative to the
Economic Development Board. Alan Ratliff will verify any
limitations to the number of appointed Board members.
Chairman Richardson advised the Board that the Metrocrest News was
producing a newcomers section in one of their editions. They have
suggested that a combination ad be purchasd for Coppell. The cost
of the ad would be split between the Coppell Economic and Business
Development Board, the Coppell Independent School District, and the
Coppell Chamber of Commerce. The Coppell Chamber of Commerce would
develop the ad and the Economic Development Board's share would be
$218.33. Angelo Vacarro made a motion that the Board expend
$218.33 as their share in the cost of the Coppell ad for the
Metrocrest New's newcomer edition. David Greer seconded the
motion. Four members approved the motion and one was against (R.
Johnson). The motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned by
Chairman Richardson. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the
Economic and Business Development Board will be Wednesday, July 4,
1990, at Coppell Town Center.
Respectfully submitted,
Regina L. Johnson
