ORDINANCE NO. 93626
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 341, AS HERETOFORE AMENDED, BY AMENDING APPENDIX
A(I)(D)(1)(j) OF ORDINANCE NO. 341 BY AMENDING THE CONSTRUCTION
REQUIREMENTS FOR PARKING LOTS FOR PUBLIC USE; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING A
SAVINGS CLAUSE, PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED TWO
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL,
TEXAS;
SECTION 1. AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 34 1, APPENDIX A(1) (D) 10 (j)
That Ordinance No. 341 of the City of Coppell, Texas, as heretofore amended, be
and the same is hereby amended by amending the construction requirements for public use
parking lots in Appendix A(I)(D)(1)(j) of Ordinance No. 341 to read as follows:
"(j) Parking lots for public use shall be constructed of a minimum 5" concrete on
a prepared (lime stabilized) subgrade with adequate surface drainage. All fire
lanes shall be constructed of 6" concrete on a prepared (lime stabilized)
subgrade with adequate surface drainage. Asphalt will not be permitted for
either parking lots or fire lanes. Additional requirements on the subgrade are
set forth in paragraph (I)(D)(1)(a)."
SECTION 2. REPEALING CLAUSE
All ordinances, or pans of ordinances, inconsistent or in conflict with provisions of
this ordinance, are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE
If any article, paragraph or subdivision, clause or provision of this ordinance shall be
adjudged invalid or held unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of this
ordinance as a whole or any pan or provision thereof, other than the parts so decided to be
invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 4. SAVINGS CLAUSE
An offense committed before the effective date of this ordinance is governed by the
prior law, in effect when the offense was committed and the former law is continued in
effect for this purpose.
SECTION 5. PENALTY CLAUSE
That any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction in the municipal court of the
City of Coppell, Texas, shall be subject to a fine not to exceed the sum of Two Hundred
Dollars ($200.00) for each offense, and each and every day said violation is continued shall
constitute a separate offense.
SECTION 6. EFFECTIVE DATE
This ordinance shall take effect inunediately from and after its passage as the law and
charter in such cases provide.
