BUILDING AND STANDARDS MEETING
The Building and Standards Commission of the City of Coppell met in a
special -Caked Session on Monday, D eeem er 13, 2010, at 7;00 p.m. the Fire

Also present were Chief Buflding Oficial Michael Arellano and Administrative
Item 1 : Call to order.
Chairperson LeGros called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Item 2: Approve the Minutes for October 4, 2007*
Action:
Motion by Vice Chairperson Persch acher, second by Commissioner Ketchum
to approve the minutes for October 4, 2007. The motion carried 5-0 with
Chairperson LeGros, Vice Chairperson Perschbacher, Ketchum, m, Co .er and
Hirschy voting in favor of the motion.
Item 3: PUBLIC HEARING to consider the recommendation for
adoption of the 2009 Editions of the following Codes: International
Building Code, International Energy Code, International Fire Code,
International Fuel Gas Code, International Mechanical Code, International
Plumbing Code, International Property Maintenance Code, International
Residential Building Code, as well as the 2011 Edition of the National
Electrical Code, all with local Coppell amendments, carried over from the
previous code adoption.
Presentation:
Michael Arellano, Chief Building Official, made a. presentation to -Lhe
Commission. Mr. Arellano stated the proposed codes are recommendations
(amended to apply to the City of Co o l) of the North Texas Council of
Governments. ents. e stated that tonight's meeting is intended to provide a brief
overview of the code updates with the intention of seeking the Commission's
recommendation for approval and subsequent approval and adoption by City
