CCD CM 2007-08-28 MINUTES OF AUGUST 28, 2007 The Temporary Board of Directors of the Proposed Coppell Crime Control and Prevention District met on Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at 5:30 p.m. in the 1 Floor Conference Room of Town Center, 255 Parkway Boulevard, st Coppell, Texas. The following members were present: Brianna Hinojosa-Flores, Mayor Pro Tem Jayne Peters, Councilmember (late arrival) Marsha Tunnell, Councilmember Billy Faught, Councilmember Bill York, Councilmember Mayor Doug Stover and Councilmember Franklin were absent from the meeting. Also present were City Manager Jim Witt, City Secretary Libby Ball and City Attorney Robert Hager. Mayor Pro Tem Hinojosa called the meeting to order. Councilmember Peters arrived. 1.Election of the Presiding Officer. Action: Councilmember Faught moved to nominate Mayor Doug Stover to be the Presiding Officer of the Board. Mayor Pro Tem Hinojosa-Flores seconded the motion; the motion carried 5-0 with Mayor Pro Tem Hinojosa-Flores and Councilmembers Peters, Tunnell, Faught and York voting in favor of the motion. 2.Adopt a Crime Control Plan and Budget Action: Councilmember Peters moved to approve a Crime Control Plan and Budget. Councilmember York seconded the motion; the motion carried 5-0 with Mayor Pro Tem Hinojosa-Flores and Councilmembers Peters, Tunnell, Faught and York voting in favor of the motion. ccd082807 Page 1 of 2 3.Consider approval of a Resolution to call for election to create the Coppell Crime Control and Prevention District and to adopt a one- fourth of one percent sales and use tax dedicated to crime reduction programs; and, to provide notice thereafter as required by state law. Action: Councilmember Tunnell moved to approve CCD Res. # 2007-0828.1 to call for election to create the Coppell Crime Control and Prevention District and to adopt a one-fourth of one percent sales and use tax dedicated to crime reduction programs; and, to provide notice thereafter as required by state law. Mayor Pro Tem Hinojosa-Flores seconded the motion; the motion carried 5-0 with Mayor Pro Tem Hinojosa-Flores and Councilmembers Peters, Tunnell, Faught and York voting in favor of the motion.
