BM 1986-11-25 PZ JOINT SESSIONMinutes of November 25, 1986 The Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council of the City of Coppell met in joint session at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 1986 in the Coppell Town Center, 255 Parkway Boulevard, Coppell, Texas 75019. The following members were present: Chairman Ray Smedul Commissioner Frank Pope Commissioner Steve Eberhardt Commissioner Perry Jasiecki Commissioner Joe Munsch Commissioner Peyton Weaver Commissioner Marsha Tunnell PRE -SESSION: 7:00 p.m. (Open to the public) Item 1: Briefing on agenda REGULAR SESSION: 7:30 p.m. (Open to the public) Item 4: To consider approval of the proposed Comprehensive Master Plan for the City of Coppell. Chairman Ray Smedul called the meeting to order and requested J.T. Dunkin to make the presentation to the Council on the Master Plan for the City of Coppell. Mr. Dunkin stated that the planning had gone through a number of work shops with the Chairman and Commissioners of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Mr. Dunkin stated that the Comprehensive Plan is to be used as a guide for the City and further explained the existing Land Use, the Regional Thoroughfare Plan, the Major Thoroughfare Plan and Future Land Use Plan which would be a guide for future zoning decisions that come before the Planning and Zoning Commission. Chairman Smedul then opened a question and answer period with the Commissioners and upon request Mr. Dunkin further addressed the land use west of Freeport Parkway and suggested that a special zoning should be addressed for the old Downtown Coppell area. Chairman Smedul stated that the Commissioners felt comfortable with presenting this Master Plan to the City Council for their approval. The meeting was then adjourned by the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Master Plan for the City of Coppell was referred to the City Council for consideration and approval. R.W.
