BM 1986-09-02 PZ JOINT WORK SESSIONMinutes of September 2, 1986
The Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council of the City of
Coppell met in a joint special called work session on Tuesday, September
2, 1986 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 255 Parkway
Boulevard. The following members were present:
Chairman Ray Smedul
Commissioner Steve Eberhardt
Commissioner Perry Jasiecki
Commissioner Joe Munsch
Commissioner Frank Pope
Also present were City Engineer Ed Powell, Administrative Assistant
Vivyon Bowman, Secretary Linda Glidewell, City Attorney Larry Jackson,
Iterim City Manager Frank Trando, Secretary Linda Grau, Mayor Lou Duggan
and Councilmembers Dan Stanton, Mark Wolfe, Jim Cowman, Bill Smothermon,
Tom Morton and Dean Wilkerson.
Item 1: Joint work session with the City Council on the proposed
Comprehensive Master Plan for the City of Coppell.
The meeting was called to order and Chairman Smedul gave a
brief opening statement. Then Mayor Duggan opened the work
session for discussion and introduced Mr. J.T. Dunkin of J.T.
Dunkin and Associates.
Mr. Dunkin provided the Planning and Zoning Commissioners and
the Councilmembers with Future Land Use Maps and asked for any
questions.
Following extensive discussion by both the Planning and Zoning
Commission and the City Council; Chairman Smedul stated that
the Planning and Zoning Commission would meet on the next
Monday evening at 6:30 p.m.. The following topics would be
the main order of discussion:
1) West Side Corridor
2) Beltline and 635
3) Zoning south of Beltline and east of MacArthur
4) Towne Center focus of Community
The Planning and Zoning portion of the meeting was then adjourned.
