BM 1981-12-17 PZ82 Minutes of December 17, 1981 The Planning and Zoninq Commission of the City of C000ell met iSchoollar session on December 179 1981, at 7:30 p.m. in the Co''pell High Cafeteria. The following members were present: R. W. Smedul,. Chairman Geren Burton, Co -Chairman Jim Kershaw, Commissioner Commissioner Gary Adams and Commissioner Frank Pope were not present. Also present was City Administrator Jim Elium. The meeting was called to order and everyone asked to stand while Co -Chairman Burton gave the invocation. ITEM NO. 4 - Public hearing to consider a zoning change request by Dayspring Development Corp. from "C" Commercial to a zoning classification of Multi -Family Residential District. This item was withdrawn. ITEM NO. 5 - Public hearing to consider a zoning change request by General Telephone Co. from "MF -1" Multi -Family Residential District to "R" Retail District Classification, said property being described as follows: Being a tract of land situated in the J. 14. Anderson Survey, Abstrracts�o.1 8 Dallas County, Texas, containing 3.0128 acres of land, and.locate West of the General Telephone Building, East of the Whispering Hills Addition, and South of Sandy Lake Road. James Dewey, reoresentina General Telephone, was present and stated that the zoning change request was for the purpose of expanding the existing Genera Telephone facility. Chairman Smedul declared the public hearing open and asked for comments from the audience. Troy Williams questioned why General Telephone needed "R" Retail zoning instead of "C" Commercial or some other Follow- ing classification. Chairman Smedul declared the public hearing closed. in discussion, Co -Chairman Burton moved that the zoning change be recommended for approval; Commissioner Kershaw seconded and motion carried 3-0. ITEM NO. 6 - Public hearing to consider a zoning change request b James a Andrews from "SF -12" Single Family to a zoning classificatin Suoveof Abstract 783, con - being a tract of land situated in the Agsdon of the E. F� Hitchcock tract, Westtaining 3.92 acres of land and located East of the Sandy Lake Rd. Baptist Church, North of Sandy Lake Road, and South of the Joe Eby tract. This item was withdrawn.
