BM 1980-05-15 PZ62 Minutes of May 15, 1980 The Planning and Zoning Commission of the Ci of Coppell met in regular session at 7:30 p.m. on May 15, 1980, in the Coppell High School Cafeteria. The following members were present: Foy Layton, Chairman Geren Burtoli, Co -Chairman Tom Rainey, Commissioner Ray Smedul, Commissioner Commissioner Larry Wells was not present. Also present were City Admini- strator James Elium and City Secretary Dorothy Timmons. The meeting was called to order and everyone asked to stand while Chairman Layton gave the invocation. Following the invocation, Chairman Layton in- quired if all Commission members had read the minutes of the previous meet- ing. All indicated they had. Commissioner Smedul then moved that the minutes be approved as presented; Commissioner Rainey seconded and motion carried 4-0. The first item to be considered was a public hearing on a zoning change request of William G. Thompson for a change from "C", Commercial and "R". Retail to "I-1", Light Industrial on 60.4 acres of land which is situated at the northeast corner of Beltline and Denton Tap Road. Mr. Richard Pierce and Mr. Larry Martin were present to discuss this item with the Commission. Following the presentation, Chairman Layton declared the public hearing open and asked for those persons who wished to speak against the proposed change. There were none. He then asked for those persons who wished to speak for the proposed change. Again, there were none. Chairman Layton then declared the public hearing closed. Following discussion by the Commission, Chairman Layton moved that the zoning change be recommend- ed for approval; Commissioner Rainey seconded and motion carried 4-0. Approval of the preliminary plat on the above property was then considered by the Commission. Mr. Richard Pierce and Mr. Larry Martin made the present- ation. Following discussion, Commissioner Rainey moved that the preliminary plat be recommended for approval; Co -Chairman Burton, seconded and motion carried 4-0. The meeting was then adjourned.
