BM 2011-12-07 EcDev COPPELL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE December 7, 2011 MINUTES The Coppell Economic Development Committee met at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Coppell Town Center, 2nd Floor Conference Room, 255 Parkway Boulevard, Coppell, Texas 75019. The following were present: Bill Rohloff, Don Carroll, Kenneth Luttmer, Matt Hall, James Walker, Adam Darowski, Aaron Straach, Casey Klein, and Mindi Hurley. Jeff Varnell also attended. Call to Order 1. Bill Rohloff called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. Approval of Minutes: November 2, 2011 2. It was moved by Ken Luttmer and seconded by Matt Hall that the minutes of November 2, 2011 meeting be approved. The motion passed unanimously. Convene Executive Session 3. A. Section 551.087, Texas Government Code – Economic Development Negotiations. 1. Economic Development Prospects east of Freeport Parkway and north of Interstate 635. Bill Rohloff convened into executive sessionat 6:06 p.m. under the above-stated article and discussed Item 1. Bill Rohloff recessed the Executive Session at 6:43 p.m. and opened the Regular Session. 4. Strategic Plan Discussion  The committee reviewed the draft of the Strategic Plan. The committee was asked to email any changes to Mindi. Chamber Update 5.  The Chamber Board retreat will be held on Monday, December 19, 2011 at the DFW Hilton.  The Total Resource Campaign wrapped up and was successful. School District Update 6.  The Coppell High School volleyball team won the State Championship.  Coppell ISD has hired an attorney to fight Robinhood. General Discussion and Update on Commercial and Industrial Projects 6.  The Strategic Plan will be taken to City Council in January. It will be presented at a Work Session.  The Boards & Commissions banquet will be on December 13, 2011.  Everyone thanked Matt Hall for his service. With no further business to discuss, it was moved by Jim Walker and seconded by Kenneth Luttmer that the meeting adjourn.
