CM 1956-04-05 THE STATE OF TEXAS ~ COUNTY OF DALLAS ~ The Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas, convened on this the 5th day of April, 1956, with the following members present, to-wit: H. M. Johnson, Mayor C. C. Mitchell, E.E. Parker, V. E. Grace Aldermen Grover Lanham, Geo. Corbin, constituting a quorum, when among other proceedings had was the following: Came on for canvass the returns of an election held on the 3rd day of April, 1956, and the said returns having been canvassed, it was found that R. M. Johnson received a majority of the votes cast for Mayor; that C. C. Mitchell, E. E. Parker, V. E. Grace, Grover Lanham and Geo. Corbin each received a majority of the votes cast for Alderman, respectively; and that Roy Liberto received a majority of the votes cast for Town Secretary. On motion duly made, seconded and carried, R. M. Johnson was declared the duly elected Mayor; C. C. Mitchell, E. E. Parker, V. E. Grace, Grover Lanham and Geo. Corbin each were declared the duly elected Aldermen and Roy Liberto was declared the duly elected Town Secretary. WHEREUPON, the official oath was administered to the newly elected officers. On motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimously C. C. Mitchell was appointed Mayor, Pro-tern. Mr. Lamkin, representing Coppell Telephone Company, appeared and discussed improvements in telephone service. Mr. Parker made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Mr. Grace and carried.
