Minutes of Meeting
September 20, 2012
The Keep Coppell Beautiful Board met on September 20, 2012, at 7:00 p.m., in the
Conference Room at the Coppell Service Center, 816 South Coppell Rd., Coppell, Texas.
The following members were present: Laura Burnett, Noel Schaefers, Richard Kelley,
Shawn Thompson, Vin Merrill, Annie Friedman, Pooja Marella, Tabitha Wilson, Brandi
Todd and City Liaison: Jen Ferguson.
Item 1: Call to Order
Brandi Todd called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m.
Item 2: Consider Approval of Minutes for June 14, 2012
Motion was made and carried to approve the June 14, 2012 minutes.
Item 3:
No citizens present.
Item 4: Discussion regarding Coppell Green Team
Subcommittee met to discuss Green Team goals for the partnership
with the Chamber.
Green Team subcommittee will meet with Tony Moline of the
Chamber of Commerce in early October
cutting` and division of responsibilities between the Chamber and
KCB.
Item 5: Discussion regarding Adopt-a-Location Program
Adopt-a-Location charts updated and distributed. Members are still
encouraged to reach out to groups that are delinquent in their cleanups.
Adopt-a-Location survey distributed and evaluated by board.
Members are to email their groups and submit survey results to Noel.
Results will be compiled and presented at next board meeting.
Keep Coppell Beautiful board will clean their adopted location on Oct.

20 following the annual Wildflower Seeding.
Item 6: Discussion regarding Keep Coppell Beautiful Semi-Annual report to
City Council.

Brandi will make the report to the City Council on September 25 at
7:30pm.
Item 7: Discussion regarding Green Santa
Board discussed potentially organizing the Green Santa project again.
Shawn to investigate other books.
Board wants to continue with events at schools in the morning to
facilitate high s as well as include various
after school programs and holiday camps at the YMCA.
Item 8: Community Programs Report
1.Residential Recycling Carts Average to date in 2012
June - Percent of
Homes that set out carts- 62%. Percent of Waste Diverted by recycling-
19%.July - Percent of Homes that set out carts- 63%. Percent of Waste
Diverted by recycling-18%. August - Percent of Homes that set out carts-
69%. Percent of Waste Diverted by recycling-20%.
2.Coppell Farmers Market-
Report to Council Sept 25. Harvest Dinner
Oct 13. Food Day for Kids Oct 20.
3.Coppell Community Garden (CCG)
Report to KCB Oct 18. Share the
harvest donated __lbs. in June, __lbs. in July, __lbs. in August, and 7,303
lbs. to date.
4.Environmental Education Committee (EEC)
Texas SmartScape Tour
Sept 29. Wildflower Seeding Oct 20. Staff liaison assisting new chair,
Cathy Boldt, in organizing committee and future education classes. New
broad spectrum city residential recycling brochure.
