THE STATE OF TEXAS
COUNTY OF DALLAS
The Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas, convened in this
the 7th dst of April, 1960, with the following members present to-wit:
R. M. Johnson, Mayor
C. T. Waters,
J. H. Burns, ..
F. Harwell,
W. H. Plumlee,
W. F. Mosley, Secretary
constituting a quorum, when among other proceedings had was the
following:
Motion made by Burns to accept the plat of C. H. Parott seconded
Harwell approved,
Motion made by Plumlee seconded by Burns to pay the election clerks
for April 5, 1960 elections, approved.
Motion made by Waters secnnded by Burns to accept the City election
returns of April 5, 1960, as counted, approved.
Motion made by Plumlee seconded by Waters to close old Council and
vacate the Mayor office, approved.
When amoung other transaction had was the following:
The Mayor, Mr. W. T. Cozby and repective Alderman, Mr. C. T. Waters,
Mr. J. H. Burns, Mr. F. Harwell, Mr. E. E. Parker, and L. P. Johnson each
subscribed to the constitutional oath of office.

I. W. T. Cozby, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute
the duties of the office of Mayor of the Town of Coppell, Texas, and will
to the beat of my ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution
and laws of the United States and of this State; and I further more
solemnly swear that I have not di 'ectly nor indirectly paid, offered, or
promised to pay, contributed, nor promised to contribute any money, or
valuable thing, nor promised any public office o employment as a reward
for the giving or withholding a vote at the election at which I was
elected. So help me God.

Motion made by Waters to re-appoint Mr. W. A. Hodge to the office
of Chief or Police seconded by Burns. Approved.
Motion made by Burns seconded by Johnson that Mr. Waters be elected
to office of Pro-tem. Approved.
Motion made by Waters seconded by Burns, that Billy J. Harwell be
appointed City Secretary. Vice W. F. Mosley resign. Spproved.
There being no further business to come before the Town council on
motion duly made, seconded, and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
