CM 1962-02-05THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF DALLAS The Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas, convened on this the 5th day of 'February, 1962, with the following members present, to-wit: W. T. Cozby, Mayor Frank Harwell, E. E. Parker, L. A. Johnson, Aldermen John Burns, C. T. Waters, Bill Harwell, Town Secretary constituting a quorum, when among other proceedings had was the following: Mr. Waters introduced a proposed resolution and made a motion that it be adopted. The motion was seconded by Mr. Parker. The motion, carrying with it the adoption of the resolution, pre- vailed by the following vote: Ayes: Messrs. Harwell, Parker, Johnson, Burns and Waters. Noes: None. The Mayor requested to be recorded as voting "Aye". The resolution as adopted is as follows: A RESOLUTION BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS, CALLING AN ELECTION FOR THE ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR SAID TOWN. WIiEREAS, the terms of office of the present Mayor and Aldermen are about to expire; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS: That an election be held on the 3rd day of April, 1962, said date being the first Tuesday in April, 1962, for the purpose of: Electiong a Mayor and five Aldermen for the Town of Coppell, Texas, to serve until the next regular election, as provided by the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas. Said election shall be held at the water building in said Town of Coppell, Texas, and T. B. Moore is hereby appointed Presiding Judge~ of said election, and the said T. B. Moore shall select two Clerks to assist in holding said election. The manner of holding said election shall be governed by the general laws of the State of Texas regulating general elections, except as other- wise provided by the statutes hereinabove referred to, and only qualified voters who have resided in said Town for six (6) months preceding the date of the election shall be allowed to vote in said election. A copy of this resolution, signed by the Mayor of said Town and attested by the Town Secretary, shall serve as a proper notice of said election. The Mayor is authorized and directed to cause this notice of the election to be posted at each of three (3) public places within said Town for at least thirty (30) full days prior to the date of said election. Louis Nichols as city attorney. Mr. Harwell seconded the motion· Motion carried. Mr. Burns made motion that anyone caught dumping trash in Town of Coppe11 be fined $25.00. Mr. Parker seconded the Motion. Motion carried. Mr. Waters made motion that minium fine of $16.50 be charged for speeding violaters. Mr.Johnson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
